Ten (Biblical) Reasons To Go To Church

ImageBusy. Everyone is busy. Work. Family. It seems like every week is busier than the week before. But the busier our lives get the more important it is to make time to gather with other believers at church. Our souls need rest. Our souls need fellowship. Our souls need refreshing. Our souls need church.

We live in a digital age. Everything is shared online. Many people even believe they can do church online. While listening to sermons and teaching on YouTube and Podcasts can supplement your Christian walk they are not a replacement for gathering with believers at the table of communion, worshipping, giving, praying, and hearing the Word together.

Here are 10 biblical reason to go to church and get plugged into a local body.

  1. Jesus is coming back (Hebrews 10:25)
  2. We need each other’s encouragement (Hebrews 3:13, 10:25)
  3. To be discipled through teaching, fellowship and prayer (Acts 2:42, Romans 15:14, James 5:14)
  4. Because believers love each other (1 John 4:12)
  5. We stir each other to love and good works (Hebrews 10:24)
  6. To serve one another in freedom (Galatians 5:13)
  7. Each believer must be actively involved For the local church to function according to God’s purpose (1 Corinthians 12:12-31)
  8. Because the church was Jesus’ idea (Matthew 16:18)
  9. Because the church is how Jesus is advancing against the enemy (Matthew 16:18)
  10. To be under authority (Matthew 18:17, Ephesians 5:24, 3 John 1:9, 1 Peter 5:5)
