A Bowl of Soup. (a rant about a t-shirt)

OK, so I’m picking up some baby food at Walmart last night when a couple of high school girls walk in. I’m saddened, I’m shocked, I’m angered. Why? One of the girls was wearing a black tshirt with large neon colored letter spelling out PARTY NAKED. I don’t know who they were, it doesn’t matter. What does matter is why? What happened to self respect? Why does this girl want to be associated with casual sex, and loose morals? Oh, yea. We are born in sin. Depraved. Separated form God. The society used to try to encourage modest behavior. But it seems those days are gone. Now the culture values its lack of values. Music, TV, movies, the internet, so much of what is fed to the minds of our teens and kids are lies. It is backwords thinking. And too many parents are the ones putting the food on the plate. It seems so many are eating the soup of Esau.* Trading the present, and future inheritance of God for temporary satisfaction.

Girls seem to think that they can use sex to make them powerful, give them control, and get what they want. What they don’t understand is the minute they use their sexuality, they have already given up control. They have handed over their innocence, purity, and strength. They have become weak.

I really wanted to say something to that girl. To ask her why she wanted people to think of her as a “naked partier”. To tell that her Jesus loves her, and created her sexuality to be cherished not degraded. But, I didn’t. Didn’t want her wondering why some old dude was asking her about “Partying Naked”.
*Hebrews 12:16

See that no one is sexually immoral, or is godless like Esau, who for a single meal sold his inheritance rights as the oldest son.17Afterward, as you know, when he wanted to inherit this blessing, he was rejected. He could bring about no change of mind, though he sought the blessing with tears.
